What settings should I use to send and receive email?

The basic settings to be used for all Prompt Web Hosting customers are detailed below. This article assumes you have a valid SSL certificate installed for your domain name.

Encrypted Email Settings
(Replace 'mydomain.com' and 'sales@mydomain.com.au' with your own domain name and email address)
Username: Your full email address (e.g. sales@mydomain.com.au).
Password: Use the email account password.
Incoming Server: mail.mydomain.com.au
  • IMAP Port: 993 
  • POP3 Port: 995
IMAP is recommended.
Outgoing Server: mail.mydomain.com.au
  • SMTP Port: 465
Encrypted Connection: SSL
IMAP, POP3, and SMTP require authentication.
